Feed Barley Specifications & Quality Control
Technical parameters for export feed barley are never universal. They depend on growing region, crop year, storage history, loading terminal practices and the import rules of the destination market.
Demetra Trading aligns each shipment to a specification schedule attached to the commercial offer and carried into the Sales and Purchase Agreement. What you read here is an orientation framework for procurement teams — not a standing certificate for any particular cargo.
Crop year is stated in the offer once origin and allocation are confirmed. Contractual maximums and minimums for moisture, admixture, damage and mycotoxins are negotiated with reference to typical export practice but always superseded by the executed SPA. The inspection certificate issued at load port reflects the methods named in that contract.
Destination requirements matter. A parameter acceptable in one jurisdiction may need tightening for another — for example mycotoxin thresholds, GMO declarations or additional radiation testing. Buyers should disclose import restrictions early so the offer reflects achievable limits.

Quality & Export Documents
Document sets vary by destination and contract, but buyers routinely receive some or all of the following for a bulk feed barley shipment:

Originals and electronic copies are distributed per the documentary instructions in the SPA and letter of credit or collection terms, if any. Document titles may follow ICC or local customs conventions agreed with the buyer.
Independent Inspection
An internationally recognized inspection company is appointed by contract — commonly at the loading port before or during vessel loading. The inspector verifies quantity by draft survey or weighbridge totals as agreed, and quality against the parameter list and methods in the SPA.
Buyers may propose an inspector subject to acceptance and scheduling feasibility. Inspection does not replace other contractual documents; it provides an independent record that supports quantity and quality representations for the specific parcel.
Hold or rejection rights, retest procedures and certificate precedence are defined in the SPA. Website descriptions cannot replicate those dispute mechanics.
Contract Priority
In the event of any difference between this website and the executed Sales and Purchase Agreement, the executed contract and the contractual inspection documents prevail.
